Kathleen Wilkinson Wootten collection, 1909-1966.

The Kathleen Wilkinson Wootten Collection contains her personal and professional correspondence, greeting cards, journals, maps, materials relating to the Health and P.E. Department at Georgia State College for Women where she taught health from 1917-1952. The collection also contains numerous articles on various health subjects such as sex education. Finally, there are also miscellaneous papers such as Wootten's business correspondence and resumes. The collection covers most of her life beginning in 1909 and ending in 1966. However, there are gaps in each decade, notably in the 1920s and 1930s.

Kathleen Wilkinson Wootten was born on January 27, 1893 in Gastonburg, Alabama. Wootten received her A.B. from Sullins College in 1910 with a major in English and Piano and her M.A. in Health Education and Science from the Teachers' College at Columbia University. She served as the Director of the Health Department at Georgia College for Women from 1917 to 1926.
